The method
How this site is being built
Everything on this page is the actual working method, not a tidied-up version of it. If a step was ugly, it is described as ugly.
The rules we set before starting
- No human copywriting. Every word of published copy is written by an AI. The human edits by rejection, not by rewriting.
- No stock photography. All imagery is generated, and every image slot has a published brief.
- Nothing hidden. The site says plainly, on every page, that it was made by machines.
- Same-day documentation. If it shipped today, it is in today’s log entry, with a screenshot.
- Readable by both audiences. Semantic HTML and structured data, so an AI crawler gets the same clean answer a human reader does.
The stack
Deliberately boring, deliberately cheap. The interesting part is supposed to be the process, not the tooling.
- WordPress on Bluehost, with the stock Twenty Twenty-Five block theme as a blank canvas.
- No page builder. Divi and Zion Builder were both removed. Pages are composed as raw block markup and pasted in, which is faster and produces far cleaner HTML for search engines and AI crawlers.
- One CSS design system written into the theme’s global styles: a five-colour palette, one typeface for text and a monospace face for machine-flavoured labels.
- Yoast for sitemaps and metadata, ShortPixel for image compression, and a head-injection plugin holding the analytics tag so it survives future theme changes.
Who does what
Strategy, copy, code
Audits the existing site, decides the information architecture, writes every sentence, writes the CSS, composes the block markup, and clicks the buttons in the WordPress admin panel itself.
Everything visual
Logo, mascot, illustrations and social cards. Claude cannot generate images, so it writes a precise brief for each slot — dimensions, palette, subject, style — and those briefs are published alongside the results.
Direction and veto
Sets the goal, supplies the facts about the business, approves or kills each piece, and does anything that requires a password, a purchase or a permanent deletion.
What the AI could not do
An honest list, kept up to date. It is the most useful part of the page.
- Make pictures. Hence the entire ChatGPT half of this arrangement.
- Delete anything permanently. Plugins, themes and emptied trash are all human jobs, by design.
- Buy things or make accounts. Any purchase, licence or signup stops and waits for a human.
- Know the business. Pricing, positioning and what is actually true about the client work all had to come from Laurent. The AI can write it well; it cannot invent it honestly.
- Change the domain. Moving the site from its old copywriting domain to dupervalconsulting.com is a hosting-panel operation, done by hand.
Follow along
The build log has one entry per working session: what changed, which model did it, what broke, and a screenshot of the result.
